A CanSat is a type of payload used to teach space technology. It is similar to the technology used in miniaturized satellites. The main constraint of a CanSat is that the payload is required to fit inside the volume of a typical soda can (66mm diameter and 115mm height) and have a mass below 350g. The CanSats was deployed from small water rocket to a height of 100m. The CanSats are equipped with a recovery system, usually a parachute, to limit damage upon recovery and to allow the CanSat to be reused. Designed and developed Cansat which measures the atmospheric temperature, pressure, humidity and CO2 100 meters from the ground and send housekeeping data. On contact with the ground it can work as a rover sending the housekeeping mentioned above data with a live video stream of the area.
The rising population of space debris increases the potential danger to all spacecraft, one possible way to handle the problem of space debris is On-Orbit Servicing. iBoss (Intelligent Building Blocks for On-Orbit Satellite Servicing and Assembly) is a concept that intends to reduce the space debris, by designing the satellite as modules and connecting them, opening an opportunity for servicing and reconfiguration.
POLAR rover was designed and developed to survey the lava tube. A lava tube is a natural conduit formed by flowing lava which moves beneath the hardened surface of a lava flow. I designed and developed the electrical power subsystem to regulate the power for the operation of the rover and its payload. Calculated the power budget and selected the appropriate battery according to the requirements. Using CATIA V5 designed the chassis and wheels of the rover to accommodate the battery and payload with best possible traction for the lava tube surveillance.
The Fluid dynamic actuator (FDA) was developed by TU Berlin, a new advancement in the field of actuators that could be used in satellites. The project was to use magnetic and light sensors to develop a method of finding the angle in body fixed coordinates and implement Control techniques on the FDA to point the system to the required angle using the sensors.
Mjölnir is the hammer of Thor, the Norse god associated with thunder. Mjölnir is depicted in Norse mythology as one of the most fearsome and powerful weapons in existence, capable of leveling mountains. Developed Thor’s hammer using electromagnet that could only be lifted by a person whose fingerprint is registered in the device.
